Mill Grinding Cylpebs

A grinding cylpeb is a short cylinder rather than a sphere. Because the flat ends and the cylindrical body present more surface area to the material, cylpebs grind finer than balls of the same weight in the second chamber of a cement mill, and they pack differently in the charge.

We supply forged and hot-rolled cylpebs in carbon and manganese steel, and cast cylpebs in low, medium and high chrome alloy, from 20x30 mm up to 60x70 mm. Hardness runs from HRC 45 for hot-rolled 45# to HRC 58-65 for high chrome cast grades.

Cylpebs are the usual media for cement finish grinding, raw meal grinding, coal mills and some mineral regrind applications. Compare the cast and forged options, or ask us for a charge calculation based on your mill output and fineness target.
