Mill Grinding Balls, Grinding Cylpebs and Grinding Rods

Grinding Rod
Grinding rods are used in rod mills, where a charge of long steel rods grinds by line contact rather than point contact. That produces a more uniform product with less over-grinding, which is why rod mills are common ahead of flotation and in manufactured sand plants.
We supply heat-treated carbon and alloy steel rods from 40 mm to 120 mm diameter, in lengths up to 6 m, with straightness controlled to 2 mm per metre and hardness of HRC 45-55. Ends are cut square and chamfered to avoid hanging in the mill.
Rods are packed in bundles of 2-3 t with steel strapping, loaded in 20 ft or 40 ft containers. Tell us the rod mill diameter, rod length and current consumption and we will quote a heat-treated grade that resists bending.
